Saifa
Saifa means "smash and tear" and is of Chinese origin, brought back to Okinawa by Kanryo Higaonna.
To the junior and even some black belt students Saifa appears
to be the simplist of the advanced katas. The simplicity and relative shortness
of the form belie the depth of this form.
There is a wealth of bunkai to be
found in this kata including a significant number of advanced jujutsu techniques.
